Social Fund for Indigent Children

Karin Dom Centre in Varna accepts donations to establish a special social fund that will provide financial aid for the therapy and rehabilitation for children of socially deprived families.

The first 15 grants of 350 leva each will be used for one-week intensive therapy for families who lack finances to cover the therapy for their children. These are families from the country who can not afford the expenses of traveling to Varna and one-week accommodation. They have already been included in the waiting list and they are waiting for their benefactors.
These children have cerebral palsy, childhood autism, pervasive development disorder, epilepsy, general speech delay, moderate mental disability, hyperactivity disorder, severe hydrocephaly, profound mental disability.

Individual consultations and therapy sessions are held with a team of professionals: special teachers, psychologists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapist, social workers, paediatrician. 

Group therapy is implemented in Montessori groups, groups for children with autistic spectrum disorders and hyperactivity, groups for social integration. The individual and group therapy aim at stimulation of motor and cognitive development, communication skills, overcoming sensory deficits, acquisition of daily self-help skills and social skills. Social consultations for the families are performed. Parents are also supported through individual consulting and par4ents support groups.
