As you can see I am a
boy. I am six and it is difficult for me to understand the world around
me and to communicate with people around me. Coming to Karin Dom has
helped me to cope with some of the challenges in my life.
This is me and my mum getting my timetable for the day.
I have learned how to take my clothes and shoes off on my own and put them away in my own special box.
Before going into the working room I put a photograph of myself on the door so that everybody knows I am there.
On my work board I find a label with my name…
… and I stick it on the timetable board for the day.
I am on duty – today I am responsible for showing the date on the calendar and the programme for the day in symbols.
I find my tray, which has everything I need for today’s activities. Now I can take it on my own to my working board.
I have learned to recognize numbers and to count.
All the children in my group have breakfast together.
I follow my individual programme and prepare for the next activity.
This is me and my social assistant who comes to Karin Dom and also to kindergarten with me.
At lunch time my mum comes to pick me up…
…to take me to kindergarten where I play with my favourite toys.
